Shafie was born in Mogadishu in 1997. He lives in Hamarweyne, Mogadishu’s oldest quarter. He studied Information Technology in Mogadishu.
He is another young and inspiring photographer. A year ago, he started to take photos of his surroundings in Mogadishu’s old neighborhood as well as working as wedding photos. One of his photos was recently voted as the photo of the year in Mogadishu’s first photo exhibition. Many Somalis both home and abroad shared it on social media as it resonated with them.
